Use of the bulletin board for inspiration goes way back, doesn’t it? Of course I’m a visual person and keep the images that touch me close. Okay, I have Rembrant, O’Keefe, Cassatt, a Chinese Han dynasty flying horse, the Mona Lisa, several of my parent’s paintings (Patricia Haynes Justiniani McReynolds and Cliff McReynolds), and postcards from the Picasso exhibit in Los Angeles among others. At the Myths and Magical Fantasies exhibit, this painting is so huge, I imagined the artist using a ladder and a house painting brush to work on it …
Lisa, I had no idea your mom was an artist! Very talented!
Thanks, Lisa! I loved her freeform style, and it’s such a pleasure for me to showcase her work here. Thanks for taking a look!
You’re very welcome! I’m emjoying the art and learning more about you and your family on this site. You and your husband have done an amazing job!
Sorry, didn’t mean to be anonymous!
So fun to follow you Lisa. I love that you are keeping your mom’s art alive. I like reading the history behind them as well. I remember seeing one of your step-dad’s pieces, where he actually used a magnifying glass to paint/ draw. Do you have a picture of that one? Maybe he had several. I remember seeing it mid- 70’s at your parent’s house. Hapoy New Year by the way! 💛 Hugs
Hi Kristin, I love your feedback here! Yes, Cliff still uses the huge magnifying glass to paint! I’ll see if I can find one of those pieces and post it here. Take care, Lisa
