This beautiful oil painting was completed in 1972 by my step-father, Cliff McReynolds, American visionary artist.

Last year my husband Kip and I were watching a Netflix movie called Song To Song, directed by Terrence Malik and filled with movie stars: Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Michael Fassbender, Val Kilmer, Holly Hunter. It’s a meandering “story of two entangled couples, struggling songwriters, music mogul and waitress chasing success through a rock ’n’ roll landscape of seduction and betrayal”.

About halfway through this film, there’s a scene in which the characters are wandering through a gorgeous modern home for sale when the camera pans to an art book and, flipping through the pages, focuses in on this very painting. OMG I was so surprised. I called Cliff the next day and filled him in. He didn’t realize the painting was in this movie; however, the director had been given rights to use his art.
